About Leila

Leila currently lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts with her husband. 

Her paintings are noted for their ethereal and atmospheric nature and her use of emotive color palettes. Her work focuses on our emotional connection to the natural world. The environment inspires both her life and her creative work.

Leila sees her paintings as the story of a journey, defining fleeting moments in time. In process, she describes creating transparent layers in soft focus to let your mind wander and to invite your heart to connect with it, creating a sense of wonder and belonging.

Ever exploring the New England landscape which surrounds her, the work she creates is grounded in the organic beauty she finds in her everyday interactions, most notably in her affinity for water reflections and dappled light. 

Ultimately, she becomes immersed in her process, allowing intuition to guide the way and embracing imperfections as they arise. As her work evolves, she invites you to share the serendipity that can happen when we focus on our shared connections and on fleeting moments of wonder.

Artist Bio

An Antique and interior design specialist by trade in her earlier career, Leila found harmony blending business and creativity when she began her first business in the field of Antiques and Vintage Arts on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Later, she would go on to create another business specializing in historical restoration and designing interiors.

Her life as an artist began at a tender age when she was introduced to the magical qualities of transparent watercolor washes and developed a passion for landscapes and botanicals.

Throughout it all, she has continued to pursue her own art and creative process. In recent years, Leila finally chose to listen to the voice that has kept whispering to her, since she can recall. It’s the one that has always told her to follow her heart and become the artist she always intended.

And so, pursuing her passion is exactly what you will find her doing today. And with that, she imparts a wealth of gratitude to her long awaited journey.
